It led to the largest rescue operation in peacetime and changed how the Met Office operates. This dramatic documentary recounts how 19 people lost their lives after the famous offshore race was hit by a freak storm. The Fastnet Race of 1979 was “the Titanic disaster of yacht racing”. She also opens up about her interviews with figures such as Donald Trump. We hear how her comedy was informed by her abusive parents – Austrian Jews who “took the war from Europe and brought it into the kitchen”.
